1. What is BRMO?
BRMO stands for Biological Risk Management Office. BRMO is one of the offices among the cluster of Committees under the Office of RITM Director. BRMO strengthens and implements the RITM Biorisk Management Program including training and capacity building activities.
2. What is BRMO Biorisk Management Academy?
The Biorisk Management Academy is the new online training platform of RITM BRMO to ensure standard and high-quality training and education programs are provided for all. Learn from the lessons of the recent pandemic, Biorisk Management Academy is an upgrade to the online training provided by BRMO.
3. Is this training free?
The BRMO Biorisk Management Academy is supported by the Health Security Program (HSP) and Biological Engagement Program (BEP). At the moment, participation in this online training platform is through the support of HSP and BEP. Should the external support subside, the minimum training fee will be determined to cover maintenance cost, quality assurance and continuous improvement of this online training platform.
4. Who are the experts behind the Biorisk Management Academy?
The Biorisk Management Academy Team is composed of biorisk professionals and technical experts from the Biorisk Management Office and selected Biosafety Officers of the National Reference Laboratories of RITM. We have invited selected biosafety professionals and technical experts from academic institutions and government hospitals in the Philippines and USA as contributors.
5. How to apply for training ?
Applicants must express their intention to join the academy by accomplishing the pre – registration form following the link/ QR code below.

6. What is the duration of training?
Participants are allowed to complete the course within 21 days only.
7. When can we receive a certificate of completion?
Participants will be provided with a provisional certificate right after the completion of the final examination. Official RITM Certificate with QR code will be received not more than two (2) months from the scheduled deadline of training.
8. Will the BRMO Biorisk Management Academy certificate of completion be recognized by the HFSRB/RLED?
Yes! RITM BRMO Certificate of Completion is recognized by HFSRB / RLED. This new training platform is dedicated to helping laboratories comply with the biosafety training needs and requirements.
9. How often does the BRMO Biorisk Management Academy provides training?
At least twice a quarter or monthly depending on training demands.

Yes. Since this is a sponsored training, applicants will be screened and for approval.
12. How will I know if our application is approved?
Applicants will receive email confirmation.
